CASE STUDIES

Case Study 1: Bloor Homes Eastern — Stowmarket, Suffolk

Project: New-build residential housing development, Union Road, Stowmarket
Client type: Volume housebuilder (national)
Project size: 146 plots
Construction type: Traditional Build
External scaffolding type: Tube & Fitting Programme: 36 months (December 2022 – May 2026)
Safety deck system: MacDeck internal safety deck throughout

Overview

Stowmarket represents one of Synergy Access Ltd's largest and longest-running single-site contracts in Suffolk. Secured in late 2022 following a competitive tender process, the project required us to provide a full scaffolding service across 146 traditionally built new-build residential plots on a phased, programme-led basis over a 36-month contract period.

The scope encompassed sequential scaffolding lifts, crashdeck installation and removal, and scaffold dismantling across multiple active plot zones running concurrently throughout the build programme. MacDeck internal safety decks were installed as standard across all plots, providing compliant working platforms at first floor level throughout the masonry phase.

Programme Management

Delivering consistent scaffolding output across a 146-plot site over three years requires tight coordination between our site team and the principal contractor's build programme. At Stowmarket, our dedicated site supervisor managed day-to-day sequencing in direct communication with the site management team, ensuring scaffold availability aligned with the housebuilder's plot release schedule at all times.

Digital compliance documentation — including handover certificates, RAMS, and 7-day scaffold inspections — was generated and issued to site management in real time upon completion of each stage, with no delays or administrative lag.

Outcome

The contract was delivered over its full 36-month duration and reached practical completion in May 2026. The project demonstrated Synergy Access Ltd's capacity to sustain high-volume, multi-phase residential scaffolding output over an extended contract period for a national volume housebuilder, maintaining programme compliance and H&S standards throughout.

Case Study 2: Allison Homes — Elsea Park Phase 10b, Bourne, Lincolnshire

Project: New-build residential housing development, Elsea Park, Sandown Drive, Bourne
Client type: Regional housebuilder
Project size: 48 plots
Construction type: Traditional Build
External scaffolding type: Tube & Fitting
Programme: 6 months (July 2024 – May 2025)
Safety deck system: MacDeck internal safety deck throughout

Overview

Elsea Park Phase 10b formed part of Allison Homes' ongoing development at Bourne, a large-scale residential-led scheme in South Lincolnshire. Synergy Access Ltd was awarded the scaffolding subcontract following a four-revision tender process — a process that reflects the level of commercial scrutiny applied by Allison Homes' procurement team and the depth of our pricing and specification work prior to award.

The contract covered 48 traditionally built plots across a compact, active site, with scaffolding, MacDeck safety deck installation, and subsequent dismantling sequenced to support Allison Homes' build programme within a tight six-month delivery window.

Delivery

The compressed programme required our site team to maintain a consistently high output rate across the plot sequence, coordinating lifts and deck operations with the principal contractor's brickwork and roof programmes. Pre-start RAMS were generated and issued prior to mobilisation; subsequent 7-day inspection records and handover certificates were emailed directly to the Allison Homes site team in real time throughout the contract.

Elsea Park Phase 10b was completed within the programmed duration and reached site completion in May 2025, with the project achieving a valid RAMS status throughout its full operational period.

Client Relationship

Allison Homes is an established client of Synergy Access Ltd across multiple sites in our operating area. Our working relationship with their site and commercial teams, built across successive phases and projects, enables efficient mobilisation and a high degree of programme alignment from pre-start through to final account.

Case Study 3: Barratt Homes — Hampton Beach, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Project: New-build residential housing development, Waterhouse Way, Hampton, Peterborough
Client type: Volume housebuilder (national)
Project size: 196 plots
Construction type: Traditional Build
External scaffolding type: Tube & Fitting
Programme: 46 months (November 2022 – May 2026)
Safety deck system: MacDeck internal safety deck throughout

Overview

Hampton Beach, Peterborough is one of the largest single contracts in Synergy Access Ltd's operational history. The project involved delivering a full residential scaffolding service across 196 traditionally built new-build plots for Barratt Homes at their Hampton Beach development in Cambridgeshire — a major volume housebuilder site that required sustained, high-capacity scaffolding output over a 46-month programme. The scope included sequential plot erection, MacDeck safety deck installation at first floor throughout, and phased dismantling as plots reached completion across the four-year build.

Programme and Coordination

Managing a 196-plot contract over 46 months requires a structurally disciplined approach to resource allocation and programme sequencing. At Hampton Beach, we maintained a dedicated site presence throughout, with our supervisory team working directly alongside Barratt Homes' site management to align scaffold availability with the plot release programme at all stages of the build.

Our digital compliance infrastructure ensured that handover certificates, scaffold inspection records, and RAMS documentation were generated and transmitted to the Barratt site team in real time — removing administrative bottlenecks from the compliance process and ensuring site management always held current, auditable records for the scaffolding on site.

Outcome

Hampton Beach reached practical completion in May 2026, representing the successful delivery of one of the most substantial residential scaffolding contracts Synergy Access Ltd has undertaken to date. The project demonstrated our operational capacity to deliver at volume housebuilder scale over an extended multi-year programme, maintaining consistent standards of compliance, safety, and programme performance throughout.

Barratt Developments remains an active client relationship within the Synergy Access Ltd portfolio.
